Carol is the epitomy of success and dedication to the engineering profession who happens to have boot strapped her way from an HND in electrical and electronic engineering in 1985 via two Masters degrees, and a family, to getting her EngD in 2011.  We co-founded the women's engineering society student conference in 2009 and Carol went on to be WES President in 2014. She mentors and supports engineers to be chartered and is an inspiration to many; delivers outreach and supports the promotion of engineering in Scotland, Chair of IET Scotland and Chair of IET Council. She is now a Vice President, Trustee, Chair of the Volunteer Engagement Board (VEB), a Fellow Advisor, and a Professional Registration Advisor and Interviewer.
