Businesswoman of the Year
This prestigious award celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of women in the electronics industry, recognising those who have made significant contributions at an industry level. The recipient is honoured for her outstanding achievements, which may include a significant contribution to a specific project, work as part of an industry alliance or consortium, exceptional performance in a leadership role or business leadership within a department, regional or international company. She exemplifies skill, judgment, leadership and integrity, guided by a strong sense of purpose and values, with a clear commitment to advancing DEI to advance the electronics industry.
Communicator/Problem Solver
This award is for a woman who has shown an innovative approach to communicating to internal or external audiences. This can be a marketing communicator who is able to relay complex technical detail in a form that can be understood by people less familiar with the subject to extend the reach of the company or industry message. This may be someone who communicates with students or journalists or as a community liaison for a company or industry body. The award also recognises women who have used their communication skills to listen and understand a problem in the workplace and who has communicated to all parties, or design teams, to bring about a successful resolution.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Programme of the Year
Open to teams, electronics businesses, and institutions operating within the electronics sector in any capacity. This award aims to recognise an exemplary DEI programme in its entirety. Judges will assess the programme's planning, implementation and overall success, with a focus on advancing DEI for the benefit of the electronics industry, local or international communities. As well as educational programmes, we are looking for inspirational products or campaigns that address the particular difficulties of an age group, those with physical disabilities and/or neurodiversity or which encourage social mobility and access to technology.
Electronics Design Leader of the Year
This award honours an exceptional woman in a leadership position within the electronics industry. The winner will be recognised for her outstanding ability in electronics design while maintaining a company’s or group’s standards of ethics and integrity. She leads with a strong sense of purpose and with sound values, demonstrating a clear commitment to design excellence. Her exemplary leadership serves as an inspiration to future leaders in the electronics industry.
Electronics Engineer of the Year
Recognising the achievements of female engineers in the electronics field, in particular for technical excellence, innovation and contributions to their industry sector or field of work.
Electronics Entrepreneur of the Year
Recognising UK-based women who have excelled as entrepreneurs in the electronics sector. This award highlights creative and technical ability combined with market knowledge and business acumen. The category’s focus is on innovative startups and successful business ventures.
Electronics Rising Star
Awarded to the woman emerging as a promising talent in the electronics industry. She could be fully qualified or in a graduate/apprentice training scheme. To qualify she will have less than five years’ experience in her current role but has shown potential for future leadership.
Innovator of the Year
Open to women who are playing a leading role in modernising the electronics industry, either within an electronics company or as a supplier. The winner will have clearly pioneered one or more new approaches for the electronics sector, demonstrating exceptional design and/or technical skills.
Inspirational Leader
This category is dedicated to senior women in leadership positions who are making an exceptional impact on a business and/or the industry as a whole. She is guided by a clear sense of purpose and values, driving positive change in the electronics sector and/or the workplace. This award could also recognise how a female has inspired a career in STEM or the electronics industry through her enthusiasm for the subject and practical ways she has encouraged others to be a part of our industry.
Lifetime Achievement Award
Recognising exceptional women in the electronics industry who show a long-standing legacy of accomplishments, leadership and contributions to the industry throughout their career. This category is voted by the judging panel.
Mentor of the Year
Awarded to a male, female or non-binary employee who has excelled in mentoring and supporting women to advance in their careers. Recognition will be given to those providing opportunities for personal or professional growth and supporting development and progression within a company.
Returner of the Year
Open to women who have successfully returned to work after maternity leave or a career break. This award recognises the challenges associated with returning to work in combination with family responsibilities. This award recognises individuals and their contributions upon their return. It also recognises companies which support women returning to work and whose employee packages, facilities and workplace practices can be a model for future returners.
STEM/Community Outreach Star
This award recognises a woman who is actively engaged in promoting STEM subjects to students. It can also recognise women who have created, or been active in community projects that introduce a company or a technology to a broader audience.
Technical Excellence Award
This award honours an individual working within the electronics industry who has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise and innovation. She will be recognised for her outstanding technical contributions that have significantly advanced a field within electronics.
Unsung Hero
This award celebrates the impactful contributions made by women in non-technical roles within the electronics industry. This award recognises the importance of role models at all levels of an electronics business and is open to women in non-technical roles who are guided by their values and sense of purpose to improve the workplace through their efficiency, expertise, competence or attitude to co-workers.
